Summary
These are the essentials. The full document below is what governs.
- We keep what Ideario needs to work: your email, your name, your country, your date of birth, the topics you are interested in and your progress in each episode.
- The content does not use your data. We produce it with artificial intelligence, but the models we use never receive your data, and none of your data is used to train artificial intelligence.
- We do not ask for the microphone, your precise location or your contacts.
- We do not sell your personal data. The free plan shows Google ads. Advertising based on your data is only shown with your permission and never to people under 18.
- You can delete your account whenever you want, from the app or from the web. Everything linked to you is deleted, except the record of what you accepted and the record of your payments, which we keep for a limited time (section 5).
- You need to meet the minimum age of your country to have an account: 13 in most countries (section 10).
- For any right, write to us at hola@ideario.app.
1. Who we are and what this policy covers
Ideario is an app for learning about many subjects, with articles, podcasts and short videos, owned by Orbinux LLC (“Orbinux”, “we”, “us”), a limited liability company organized under the laws of the State of Wyoming, United States.
Orbinux is the data controller for the personal data described in this policy: it decides what data is collected and why. This policy applies to the Ideario app, the idearioapp.com website, the web client at app.ideario.app once it exists, and related services (together, the “Service”). It is part of the Terms and Conditions.
Ideario is only available in some countries. If you connect from a country where it is not available, you will not be able to create an account.
2. What data we collect
2.1 Data you give us
| Data | Why we ask for it | Required? |
|---|---|---|
| Email address and password (stored encrypted), or sign-in with your Google account | Creating your account and letting you sign in | Yes |
| First and last name | Showing them in the app | Yes |
| Country | Knowing whether Ideario is available to you, which minimum age applies and which law protects you | Yes |
| Date of birth | Checking the minimum age of your country and deciding whether your account is a minor’s account | Yes |
| Language | Showing you the app and the content in Spanish or English | Yes |
| Phone number | Having it in your profile, if you choose to add it | No |
| Your profile photo, if you choose to upload one | Showing it on your profile | No |
| Your permission for advertising based on your data | Knowing whether we can show it to you (section 6.3) | No |
| How you heard about Ideario (one option from a list) | Knowing how people find Ideario | Asked once, when you create your account in the app |
| Your interests: the topics you pick from a list and how you prefer to learn (articles, podcasts or videos) | Choosing what we show you first; you can change them in Profile at any time | Asked when you create your account in the app |
| What you write to us at hola@ideario.app | Answering you | Only if you write to us |
If you sign in with Google, Google gives us your email, your name and your Google account identity. We do not receive your Google password.
We do not send you promotions: only the emails the account needs, such as the confirmation code, password recovery, notices about your plan and changes to these documents.
2.2 Data generated when you use Ideario
- Your progress: for each episode and format, the last chapter you read, the second of the podcast where you stopped and whether you completed it.
- Your saved episodes.
- Your plan and your energy: whether you have the free or the premium plan, the energy you have left and what you already opened that day, and the rewarded ads you watched to get extra energy.
- Your subscription, if you buy premium: the purchase token Google Play provides, the plan status and its expiration date. We do not receive your card details.
- The record of what you accepted: the version of the Terms and of this policy you accepted, the date and how you accepted them.
- Technical data: the app version, whether you use Android, iOS or the web, and your phone’s time zone (to renew your energy at your midnight).
- Usage data: when you open, read, listen to or watch each episode, measured by us and without third-party analytics tools.
2.3 Data we receive from others
- From Google Play: the status of your subscription (whether it renewed, was canceled or was refunded).
- From a business partner, if your premium plan is given to you by an Ideario partner: the data your account needs to activate it.
- If you had a Tráfico de Ideas account, the previous version of this app: we moved to Ideario your email, your encrypted password (without knowing it), the link to your Google account, your phone number, your profile data and the status of your plan. We did not move the content or the progress of the previous version.
2.4 Your IP address
Your phone sends your IP address with every connection, as with any internet service. We use it in the moment to know which country you are connecting from, because Ideario is not available in some countries and regions or to people in countries subject to United States sanctions. We do not store it in the app’s database. The technical logs of our servers and of the sign-in system may keep it for a limited time, only for the security and operation of the Service (section 5).
2.5 What we do not collect
We do not ask for identity documents, health data, your precise location, your contacts, the microphone, the camera, biometric data or your card details. Your phone’s advertising identifier is used by Google’s ad network, as section 6.3 explains; we do not store it.
3. How we use your data
The “Basis” column says what allows us to process each piece of data. In some countries the law calls it something else; your country’s annex has the details.
| Purpose | Data used | Basis |
|---|---|---|
| Creating and maintaining your account and letting you sign in | Account, country and date of birth | Contract |
| Checking that you can use Ideario: the minimum age of your country, the available countries and sanctions | Country, date of birth and the IP in the moment | Legal obligation |
| Giving you the articles, podcasts and videos, and saving your progress and saved episodes | Your progress, your saved episodes and language | Contract |
| Choosing which episodes we show you first | Your interests, your progress and your saved episodes | Contract |
| Knowing how people find Ideario | How you heard about Ideario | Legitimate interest: improving the product |
| Keeping track of your energy and renewing it every day | Your plan, your energy and the time zone | Contract |
| Verifying your premium purchase and giving you access | Your subscription and what Google Play reports | Contract |
| Sending you account and plan emails | Email and name | Contract |
| Showing advertising not based on your data on the free plan | Technical data that Google receives (section 6.3) | Legitimate interest: funding the free plan |
| Showing advertising based on your data | Technical data and the advertising identifier that Google receives | Consent, which you can withdraw in Profile at any time |
| Giving you extra energy for a rewarded ad | That you watched the ad | Contract |
| Measuring app usage and fixing bugs | Usage data and technical data | Legitimate interest: improving the product |
| Stopping fraud, abuse and improper access | The IP, technical logs and your account activity | Legitimate interest: protecting people who use Ideario and the Service |
| Answering you when you write to us and handling your rights | Your email and what you tell us | Contract and legal obligation |
| Complying with the law and defending our rights | Only what is strictly necessary | Legal obligation and legitimate interest |
If we ever wanted to use your personal data for a new purpose that is not compatible with these, we would tell you first and, where the law requires it, ask for your permission.
4. Artificial intelligence and your data
4.1 The content is made without your data
We produce Ideario’s content with third-party artificial intelligence tools, within an editorial process with sources and fact-checking (section 6 of the Terms). Those tools only receive editorial material, such as public sources, drafts and scripts. They never receive your data, and the content is not tailored to you with artificial intelligence: everyone sees the same episode. That is why the providers of those tools are not in the table in section 6.1.
4.2 Nothing is trained with your data
We do not use your data to train or improve artificial intelligence models, ours or anyone else’s, and we do not give it to anyone for that purpose. If we ever wanted to do so, we would ask for your permission first, with a new version of these documents that you would have to accept in the app.
4.3 Automated decisions
Some things are decided by an automated system: how much energy you have left, whether an episode is open for your plan and whether your subscription is active. None of those decisions has legal effects or significantly affects you. If you think one was a mistake, write to us at hola@ideario.app and a person will review it.
5. How long we keep your data
| Data | How long |
|---|---|
| Your account data: profile, progress, saved episodes, energy, usage data, technical data and acceptance records | As long as your account exists. When you delete it, it is deleted immediately, and backups lose it within 30 days at most |
| The record of what you accepted: the version of the documents, the date, how you accepted them and whether you opted out of arbitration, together with your encrypted email | 3 years after you delete your account, only to be able to prove the agreement in case of a dispute |
| If you buy premium: the record of each payment | 7 years, for United States accounting and tax obligations |
| Technical logs that include the IP | 30 days at most |
| An account that registered and never confirmed its email | 7 days |
| The emails you write to us | 3 years after the last message, and they are deleted automatically |
| What Google receives for advertising | What Google’s policies say (section 6.3) |
6. Who we share your data with
We do not sell your personal data. We only share it in these cases.
6.1 The providers that help us provide the Service
They process your data only following our instructions and under contract. The sign-in system is the Supabase Auth software installed on our own Cloudflare infrastructure: the company Supabase does not receive your data.
| Provider | Country | What for | What they receive |
|---|---|---|---|
| Cloudflare | United States | The API and sign-in servers, the content files and their delivery, the website and technical logs | All your account data passes through its servers; it sees your IP with every connection |
| Neon | United States (servers in Virginia) | The database | All your account and progress data |
| Resend | United States | Account emails: the confirmation code, password recovery, plan notices and notices of changes to these documents | Your email and your name |
| United States | Google sign-in, distribution of the app on Google Play, Google Play payments and advertising (AdMob) | Your Google account if you sign in with it; your purchase data; for advertising, what section 6.3 says |
If we turn on phone notifications or a Google tool to measure app crashes (Firebase), we will add it to this table before using it.
6.2 Other cases
- Authorities: when a law or a valid order requires it, only what is requested.
- A corporate transaction: if Orbinux merges, is sold or reorganizes, your data may pass to whoever continues the Service, who remains bound by this policy. We would let you know.
- With your permission: in any other case, only if you ask us or authorize it.
6.3 Advertising
The free plan shows ads from Google’s network (AdMob). The premium plan has no ads.
- What Google receives to show, measure and protect the ads: your phone’s advertising identifier, your IP, technical data about the phone and the app, and how you interact with the ads. Google also uses that data under its own policy: how Google uses information from apps that use its services.
- Without your permission, ads are not based on your data: they depend on context, such as language or country.
- With your permission, Google may show you ads based on your interests. We ask for it in the app, separately from accepting the Terms, and you can withdraw it at any time in Profile.
- Accounts of people under 18 never receive advertising based on their data.
- Rewarded ads are optional. If you watch one, we record that you watched it to give you the extra energy.
- You can reset or delete your phone’s advertising identifier in Android settings, under Privacy, Ads.
7. Transfers to other countries
Orbinux is in the United States and your data is stored there, on our providers’ servers. If you live in another country, your data travels outside it. We do this with the contractual commitments required by the law of your country: your country’s annex says which ones.
8. Your rights
Depending on the law of your country, you can:
- Know what data we have about you and ask for a copy. We send it to you in a JSON file, organized by your data and with names in words.
- Correct it. Your first name, last name, phone number, language and photo are changed in the app. Your country and date of birth are corrected by writing to us: the new data goes through the same check as at registration, and if with it you do not meet the minimum age of your country, or your country is not available, the account is deleted. We will not ask you for documents.
- Delete it. Delete your account in Profile or at idearioapp.com/legal/eliminar-cuenta. Everything linked to you is deleted, except what section 5 says is kept.
- Withdraw your permission for advertising based on your data, in Profile, at any time.
- Object to processing or ask us to restrict it, when the law allows you to.
- Ask for a person to review an automated decision (section 4.3).
- Complain to the data protection authority of your country (your country’s annex names it).
How to exercise them: write to us at hola@ideario.app from your account’s email. If you write from another address, we will ask you to confirm from your account’s email. We will answer within 5 business days at most (in Chile, 2 business days until November 30, 2026), unless the law of your country gives us less time. Exercising your rights is free and does not change how we treat you.
9. Security
We encrypt data in transit, store passwords encrypted, restrict access to the database by account and by function, deliver premium audio with links that expire, and review access. No system is invulnerable. If an incident puts your data at risk, we will notify you and the authority when the law requires it and within the deadlines it sets.
10. Minors
Minimum age. To have an account you need to meet the minimum age of your country: 13 in most countries; 14 in Chile, South Korea, North Macedonia, Moldova and Peru; 15 in Australia, Ecuador, Monaco and Serbia; 16 in Albania, Andorra, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Georgia, Japan, Kosovo, Mauritius, Paraguay, Rwanda, San Marino and Sri Lanka; 18 in Saudi Arabia, Algeria, Bangladesh, Bahrain, Brunei, Qatar, Colombia, Egypt, El Salvador, the Philippines, Ghana, India, Jamaica, Jordan, Oman, South Africa, Tunisia, Uganda and Zambia; and 20 in Thailand. Below that age an account cannot be created. The app asks for the date of birth without saying what the minimum age is.
Accounts of people under 18. An account of a person under 18 does not receive advertising based on their data (it only sees ads that do not use their data) and cannot buy the premium plan. On turning 18, the app asks the person to accept the Terms as an adult.
If your country’s age goes up. If a new law raises the minimum age of your country, from that day no one below the new age can register, and accounts that will fall below it receive an email notice 30 days in advance and are deleted on the date of the law.
If we learn that an account does not meet the age, we suspend it and delete its data. If you are a mother, father or guardian and believe your daughter or son created an account without meeting the minimum age, write to us at hola@ideario.app.
11. Cookies and similar technologies
The app does not use cookies or tracking pixels: it securely stores on your phone what is needed to keep you signed in and your preferences. Google’s ads SDK uses the advertising identifier as section 6.3 explains. The idearioapp.com website does not use analytics or advertising cookies. The web client at app.ideario.app, once it exists, will only use what is needed to keep your session.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. If the change is minor, we notify you by email and post the new version here. If it is significant, we will show it to you in the app when we publish it and you will have to accept it to keep using Ideario; until you accept it, we process your data according to the version you accepted. The date of the last update is at the beginning of the document, and the version at the end.
This policy and the Terms form a single package with a single version, which is accepted in full. We keep a copy of each published version and of the version you accepted, with the date. If you want the version you accepted, write to us.

14. Country annexes
What the law of your country adds to this policy. If an annex says something different from the rest of the document, the annex governs for people in that country.
United States
Your rights under state privacy laws (among others, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Texas, Utah and Virginia): to know what data we collect, where it comes from and why; to ask for a copy; to correct it; to delete it; to not receive targeted advertising, to not have your data sold or shared and to not have it used to profile you with significant effects; and to appeal if we deny a request, by writing to hola@ideario.app with the subject “Appeal”. You may act through an authorized agent, and exercising your rights does not change how we treat you.
We do not sell your personal data. Only if you give your permission for advertising based on your data are the identifiers and ad activity that Google receives used for targeted advertising, which the California law (CCPA) calls “sharing”. Withdrawing that permission in Profile works as a request not to sell or share your data, and accounts of people under 18 never share it. In the web client we will honor the Global Privacy Control signal as that same request. We do not use sensitive personal data for anything that triggers the right to limit it.
| California law category | Do we collect it? | Is it sold or shared? |
|---|---|---|
| Identifiers (email, name, phone number if you give it; the advertising identifier and the IP that Google receives for ads) | Yes | Shared with Google for advertising only if you give your permission |
| Protected characteristics (age) | Yes, the date of birth | No |
| Commercial information (your plan and your purchases) | Yes | No |
| Internet activity (app usage and your progress) | Yes | No |
| Preferences you tell us (the topics and formats you pick, and how you heard about Ideario) | Yes | No |
| Approximate location (the country; Google infers it from the IP for ads) | Yes | Shared with Google for advertising only if you give your permission |
| Sensitive data (your account credentials) | Yes, only to let you sign in | No |
California, “Shine the Light”: we do not share personal data with third parties for their own direct marketing.
Children under 13 (COPPA): the Service is not for children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their data. If we learn that we did, we delete it.
Biometric data (Illinois, Texas, Washington and others): we do not capture, store or use biometric identifiers.
Canada (except Quebec)
We process your data under the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and, in Alberta and British Columbia, their provincial laws. Ideario is not available in Quebec. We answer access requests within 30 days at most. You may complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada (priv.gc.ca).
